Parts Advisor
A Parts Advisor supports the day-to-day operations of an automotive parts department by managing inventory, processing orders and working with suppliers and customers to ensure parts availability. The role involves developing and improving administrative services, supporting functional areas and resolving issues, while developing value-driven skills. Administrators gain key skills for progression towards management, focusing on data-driven decision-making, cross-functional collaboration and leadership potential through mentoring. The role requires efficiency, integrity, a proactive approach to skill development and the ability to manage priorities and time effectively, ensuring alignment with evolving apprenticeship standards and the broader skills strategy.
A Parts Advisor:
Confidently is the first and last point of contact with customers – Including the public, service departments of dealerships, and garages.
Is responsible for ordering, selling and managing stock control on vehicle parts.
Is responsible for taking customer and workshop orders through various channels (in person, phone, email) and raising invoices.
Communicates effectively with both customers, vehicle technicians and other staff members.
Manages customer complaints in an effective manner.
Offers Sales/advice for accessories and modifications, as well as advice and guidance for vehicle care, warranty retention and warranty claims.
Collate information for CSI (Customer Service Index).
Maintain an ordered stock room and locate parts from stock.
From day one embraces the need to put complete customer satisfaction, as well as commercial awareness, at the centre of everything they do.
Ensure all health and safety, environmental and recycling policies, plus all internal policies and procedures are adhered to, focusing on customer needs and building upon the professional reputation of the retail facility, reporting any concerns to the Bodyshop manager or to the Health and Safety Officer.
Undertake all other tasks and activities as requested by the Bodyshop Manager.
Has effective communication throughout the repair process, both with clients and with other members of the team.
Displays a good attitude, a positive approach to learning & development and a high level of ambition.

GCSE or equivalent English 4 (Equivalent to a C) (Desired)
GCSE or equivalent Maths 4 (Equivalent to a C) (Desired)
Desired skills:
Communication skills, IT skills, Team working, Attention to detail, Proactive, Initiative, Manual Skills, Driving License (advantageous)
Training:
To be confirmed. Training will be provided by a government approved provider. Training delivery will be delivered using block release, day release or assessor site visits.
- Block release delivery, learner spends circa five weeks at site and then every sixth week on a residential course at training provider premises.
- Day release delivery, learner spends one day per week at training provider premises.
- Assessor visit delivery, learner carries out majority of learning at place of work, supported by online tuition, assessor visits to site and occasional days at training provider premises
Apprenticeship duration: 18 months

Future progression:
To become a fully qualified Parts Advisor and secure a full-time role as permanent member of the team
