Motor Vehicle Technician (Light Vehicle)
We are recruiting an Apprentice Motor Vehicle Technician (Light Vehicle).
This exciting programme is ideal for someone who is looking to begin their journey to becoming a qualified Repair and Service Technician and who wants to develop a long-term career in an exciting and forward-thinking business and industry.
The role of a Motor Vehicle Technician falls into three main responsibilities:
Servicing – working to specific guidelines to ensure a vehicle is running at optimum performance
Maintenance – replacing parts and components that are damaged/wearing before they fail and cause further damage
Repair – diagnosing the reason for vehicle failure and fixing the problem
The techniques and daily responsibilities you will learn will include:
Using diagnostic, mechanical and electrical measuring equipment to investigate vehicle faults and identify their underlying causes
Inspecting and preparing customers vehicles ready for mechanical work
Removing, repairing or replacing components to the correct manufacturer specification
Contributing to a safe working environment, by working within Health and Safety processes.
Admin and customer service duties that include updating job cards and providing quotations and estimations
All apprentices are trained through their apprenticeship to achieve these levels of performance and activity.

Qualifications:
GCSE or equivalent English 4 (Equivalent to a C) (Desired)
GCSE or equivalent Maths 4 (Equivalent to a C) (Desired)
Desired skills:
Communication skills, IT skills, Team working, Attention to detail, Proactive, Initiative, Manual Skills, Driving License (advantageous)
Training:
To be confirmed. Training will be provided by a government approved provider. Training delivery will be delivered using block release, day release or assessor site visits.
- Block release delivery, learner spends circa five weeks at site and then every sixth week on a residential course at training provider premises.
- Day release delivery, learner spends one day per week at training provider premises.
- Assessor visit delivery, learner carries out majority of learning at place of work, supported by online tuition, assessor visits to site and occasional days at training provider premises
Apprenticeship duration: 36 months
Apprenticeship level: 3
Future progression:
To become a fully qualified Motor Vehicle Technician and secure a full-time role as permanent member of the team.
Things to consider:
You will need to arrange daily transport to and from the site.
Pay: From £302.00 per week
Schedule: Monday to Friday
