A Knight to Remember

A Knight to Remember

After re-launching at the industry’s biggest event of the year, Apprenticeship Central were blown away by the genuine appetite to increase recruitment and retention of apprentices in our industry.

Director Eleanor Baker-Barnes said:

I expected to catch-up with a few previous contacts and hopefully make a few new ones. However, I was completely taken aback at the amount of interest there is in attracting, recruiting and retaining apprentices.

In numerous conversations with bodyshops, Apprenticeship Central noted that top of the list of issues raised by bodyshops was finding apprentices who are ready to enter the workplace. This was closely followed by retaining them. Form filling and bureaucracy came a very tight third in the list.

Apprenticeship Central heard from large suppliers and partners to bodyshops who want to partner-up and solve the skills shortage.

With a wealth of experience, Apprenticeship Central create bespoke solutions that fit the individual needs of each body shop business.

One example is the new Pre Employment Programme (PEP). Our recruitment process from application to aptitude assessment, means the apprentices are not only ready to start their careers but are also ready to join the vehicle accident repair industry.

Apprenticeship Central would like to thank ABP for their continued support and to congratulate Richard Steer on winning the Industry Knight award, and kudos to all the other winners as well. It's great to see such recognition and support within the industry.
